An exclusive series of collaborative workshops between international and local dance companies – presented on 1, 2 and 3 December as part of CTIDF 2016 – promise an exceptional dance experience for both professional and trainee dancers. Make sure you secure your spot.
Booking is now open for the 2016 Cape Town International Dance Festival and with limited venue capacity, we urge you to book your tickets sooner rather than later.
The Workshop programme makes provision for professional dancers, adult trainees as well as youth groups. The programme will run on Thursday 1 December, Friday 2 December and Saturday 3 December, at On Pointe Studio, Loop Street, Cape Town and Centre for the Book, Queen Victoria Street, Cape Town.

30 minute warm-up
60 minute workshop with Company 1
60 minute workshop with Company 2
Suggested 30 minute collaboration, depending on facilitators.
THURSDAY 1 DECEMBER
10am to 1pm. Professional Development Workshop* presented by Cape Town’s Underground Theatre & Kirvan Fortuin, choreographer dancer with Dutch company De Châtel sur Place.

FRIDAY 2 DECEMBER
10am to 1pm. Professional Development Workshop* presented by US-based, all male company, 10 Hairy Legs.

5.30pm to 6.30pm. Public Master Class, presented by Dutch-Hungarian choreographer Krisztina de Châtel and rehearsal director for De Châtel sur Place, Dries van der Post.

SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER
10am to 1pm. Professional Development Workshop* presented by YAOTL Physical Dance Company and the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance.

10am to 12pm. Young dancers’ Workshop (under 16). Cost R50. Presented on site, as per request. Facilitator tbc.
2pm to 3pm Kids’ Movement Workshop (under 16).
Free of charge.
