Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) was established in the United States in 2010 by the Obama Administration with the aim of supporting young African leaders as they spur growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance security across Africa and IKapa’s very own gets to experience this firsthand.
iKapa has 300 disadvantaged students across 4 townships and it costs an average of R30 000 per month to operate the school. Through GivenGain, we are asking our supporters to contribute R100 per month. That R100 (5 coffees or beers!) will sponsor a child to dance with iKapa Dance Training & Outreach which includes 2 – 3 dance classes per week, transportation, dance wear, uniform and when possible nutritional development.
The iKapa team would like to take this opportunity and extend its sincere thanks to supporters of iKapa Dance Theatre (you), the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and the National Arts Council of South Africa for the past & recent funding received.
