2015 has got off to an exciting start for the iKapa Training and Outreach Programme.
We are thrilled to announce that through the generous support of SAFMARINE, the iKapa Training and Outreach Programme now has its very own Dance Centre in Gugulethu. The new space is situated in a brand new building and offers a fantastic studio for the Training and Outreach, and Apprenticeship Programmes offered by iKapa as well as community art groups. It is a creative space in which these groups can train and develop through the arts.
Classes in the new studio begin in April and we are very excited about the ongoing sustainability of the school and the long-term growth of our children and dancers as a result of this incredible development! In addition, all out young beneficiaries will have the opportunity to be inspired by the performances planned throughout the year with iKapa Dance Theatre and many partners including the Battery Dance Company, Arts Township International and the Artscape Theatre.
